MANAGING DIRECTOR Our Client is a limited liability company operating a testing laboratory for quality, conformity and compliance with strategic intent of venturing in certification, inspection and related training and consultancy. The Client wishes to recruit a dynamic results-oriented and committed individual who can transform the organization to maximize its profit and deliver on its mandate. The position will be renewable subject to performance for three-year contract period. The successful candidate for the position shall be offered a competitive remuneration package. The Managing Director (MD) shall be responsible to the Board of Directors for the implementation of the objectives and strategies for the realization of its goals. The holder shall also be responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the organization and the prudent management of its resources.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring development and implementation of strategic and business plans, policies, and internal control systems to ensure delivery of quality service to internal and external clients.
- Responsible for day-to-day running of the organisation.
- Advising the Board on all policies and strategies relating to the management of the organization.
- Ensuring proper interpretation and implementation of the Board’s decisions.
- Implementing the Board’s decisions and appraising it on the progress.
- Be responsible of innovative ideas and business frontiers that will lead to business growth.
- Be the principle marketer of the Company.
- Ensuring the development and implementation of an effective performance management framework for delivering key priorities.
- Leading in change management.
- Ensuring development and implementation of annual budgets as well as prudent management of the Company’s resources.
- Ensuring effective communication between management and the Board, as well as between different levels of management and stakeholders.
- Providing leadership and fostering teamwork among employees.
- Managing corporate risk.
- Initiating the development of strategic partnerships and collaborations.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and other obligations.
- Fostering a culture that promotes ethical practice within the organization.
- Ensuring optimal staffing, succession management and employee growth and development; and
- Any other duties assigned by the Board.
Skills/Experiences
1. Bachelor’s degree in business studies, physical sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
2. Master’s degree in business studies or other relevant field.
3. Member of a professional body and in good standing.
4. At least ten (10) years’ work experience in a similar organisation.
5. At least four (4) years’ experience in management.
